Six Days Old

Posted on

100_1234This photo was taken on Friday, when these little guys were six days old.  Stephan found and removed one dead baby, but the rest of them seem quite active.  They are climbing on each other, cuddling and nuzzling each other, and stretching out in blissful naps.  Their eyes aren’t open yet, but they have fur now.  We’ve decided that black fur (like their mother has) must be a recessive trait; no bunnies from the last litter were black, and I don’t see a black one in this litter, either.  I’m not entirely sure how many there are, but I think there are at least six.

Another week or so and they will really be cuties!

About Karen Koch

I like the old-fashioned lifestyle. All this new-fangled stuff baffles me sometimes. I cherish living out in the country, raising chickens and rabbits, planting fruit trees, and enjoying a slow life filled with beautiful words and ideas. I don't always achieve a slow life. I teach middle school English and manage a little burgeoning farm with my husband, and somewhere in the midst of that, I try to find time for writing, running, knitting, reading, and playing the ukulele. And sometimes, I actually succeed.
