A Job

Posted on

Well, I have accepted a position for the 2012-2013 school year.  It’s not the job I wanted, and it isn’t as a teacher but rather as an aide.  It isn’t full time, but only 3/4 time.  But it is in my local school district, so I can walk to work every day, and there is a strong chance that there will be another teaching position opening up there  the following year, which perhaps I will have a better chance at.

Since teaching jobs are scarce right now, I am happy at least to have steady employment.  And it will be good to get back into a school setting again, even if it’s not exactly as a classroom teacher.

I am grateful for God’s provision.

About Karen Koch

I like the old-fashioned lifestyle. All this new-fangled stuff baffles me sometimes. I cherish living out in the country, raising chickens and rabbits, planting fruit trees, and enjoying a slow life filled with beautiful words and ideas. I don't always achieve a slow life. I teach middle school English and manage a little burgeoning farm with my husband, and somewhere in the midst of that, I try to find time for writing, running, knitting, reading, and playing the ukulele. And sometimes, I actually succeed.

  2. That’s good news!
And perhaps working 3/4 time will leave you sufficient time to do more writing, or whatever else you might want to pursue at this point.
Because once you do get that teaching job, I think “spare” time is going to be in short supply 🙂
