Note to Self

When a girl at work gives you a free raspberry bush, and that bush looks beautiful and lush and green, maybe you shouldn’t keep it in your car until you leave for home even though you’ve left the windows cracked and it doesn’t seem like the day is all that hot and even though you think raspberry bushes should be able to stand hot weather anyway.  Because by the time you get home, your raspberry bush might look like this:

However, as a side note to self, after you plant and water the bush, it will start to look better.  But it still might have been smarter to ask your husband to come pick it up and plant it right away.

About Karen Koch

I like the old-fashioned lifestyle. All this new-fangled stuff baffles me sometimes. I cherish living out in the country, raising chickens and rabbits, planting fruit trees, and enjoying a slow life filled with beautiful words and ideas. I don't always achieve a slow life. I teach middle school English and manage a little burgeoning farm with my husband, and somewhere in the midst of that, I try to find time for writing, running, knitting, reading, and playing the ukulele. And sometimes, I actually succeed.
